CA Proposition 65 – Settlements/Judgements Summary for Q3 2021

This Bureau Veritas report provides a summary of the California Proposition 65 settlements and judgements for Q3 2021.

Enforcement Trends:
• Phthalates were the chemicals named in the most settlements and judgments, and accounted for 55% of settlements/judgements. 86 settlements/judgements were for DEHP, 10 for DINP, 1 for DIDP, 1 for DBP and 1 for two or more phthalates. The notices covered a wide range of products.
• Metals accounted for 30% of settlements/judgements, with 50 for lead, 1 for cadmium and 3 for two or more metals.
• Bisphenol A (BPA) accounted for 7% of settlements/judgements, over a range of product types.
• Product categories with the most settlements/judgments:
o Bags/kits/cases/totes/backpacks/pouches: 27%
o Food and dietary supplements: 9%
o Lead based solder wire: 8%
