One important feature of BVE3 is to analyze a chemical inventory and help clients achieve a ZDHC InCheck report
Hong Kong, 2 June, 2020 – Bureau Veritas has announced that they are one of two recognized digital solution providers for the ZDHC Implementation HUB. BVE3 is used to provide textile factories with a digital solution to analyze the chemical inventory for its compliance and help them achieve a ZDHC InCheck report.
ZDHC’s Performance InCheck Report helps verify if a manufacturing facility's chemical inventory conforms to the standards of the ZDHC MRSL. These reports are based on the chemical inventories reported by manufacturing facilities, which is done exclusively via the recognized Solution Providers like Bureau Veritas. Performance InCheck Reports are generated by the ZDHC Gateway to ensure a consistent evaluation process.
BVE3, Environmental Emission Evaluator is developed and managed by Bureau Veritas. It is an online portal allowing the input of a Chemical Inventory List (CIL) covering monthly consumption for the discharge calculation project. BVE3 allows factories to add the chemical inventory details and enables companies to understand chemical controls and helps in the mission to towards Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals.
BVE3 supports good chemical management activities in various ways:
• Helps brands and factories to manage the chemical inventory, obtain a ZDHC InCheck report and find areas for continuous improvement to achieve the mission of Zero Discharge
• Based on pollutant release and transfer register (PRTR) and mass balance principles, constructs realistic wastewater discharge scenarios for hazardous substances
• Systematic mechanism evaluates factories’ discharge potential of priority / hazardous chemicals based on monthly upload of chemical information
• Helps identify factories’ potential discharge risk on a continuous basis
• Works in combination with chemicals screening, testing and factory audit
• Avoids reliance on one-time screening of materials, chemicals and discharge
Niraj Singh, Director, Softlines & Analytical – Asia of Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, said, “As a Global Supply Chain Sustainability Solution Provider, Bureau Veritas has been offering BVE3 to help textile manufacturers to better manage hazardous chemical controls for many years. I am delighted we are now also an official partner to the ZDHC Implementation HUB. BVE3 enables clients to easily evaluate and identify hazardous substances within a factories’ discharge and water emissions. We offer complete services to support textile manufacturers in eliminating their discharge whilst providing a pro-active approach driving a more efficient and greener textile supply chain.”
