Thailand NBTC public hearing to revise regulation on License-Exempt Radiocommunication Equipment and Station (Dec. 2017)

We would like to share with you the latest announcement of Thailand NBTC public hearing.
Two notifications have been issued.
- B01 (draft) NBTC notification - Frequency and radiocommunication equipment that are authorized to use in general
- B02 (draft) NBTC notification - License- Exempt Radiocommunication Equipment and Station
There is no changes in frequency or output power of license-exempted equipment. The main purpose of these notifications is to rearrange detailed format as in below explanation.
Before: The existing NBTC Notification – License-Exempt Radiocommunication equipment and Station issued on 18 December, 2017 - specified both list of frequency that NBTC allow to use in general and list of special purpose equipment in which NBTC allow as license-exempt.
After: The draft of this new notification split the existing notification into 2 notifications.
- NBTC notification - Frequency and Radiocommunication equipment that are authorized to use in general : This will list license exempted frequency which NBTC allow to use in general such as Wifi, RFID, NFC, etc.
- NBTC notification - License- Exempt Radiocommunication Equipment and Station: this will list license exempted equipment which NBTC allow to use for certain special application such as space research service, etc.
For license exempted notification public hearing, it is an opportunity for manufacturer to propose new frequency to announce as license exempted equipment. If you want to propose any new frequency, please send email to NBTC directly at email spectrum@nbtc.go.th. NBTC will open this public hearing until 14 June 2019.
