Strength Endurance

Strength & endurance
Confidence in product strength

When a product is subject to physical movement or durability, there is a need to ensure the product can with stand the force which is applied by the consumer.

The majority of consumer products will at some point be subject to physical activity, in some cases they need to endure extreme stress levels daily through repeated and prolonged use.

WHY WOULD MECHANICAL AND ENDURANCE TESTING BE USED?

When a product is subjected to repeated stress, it can be prone to failures even when the product is new. Although manufacturers are able to calculate the strength of a product or parts of a product, they aren't able to accurately calculate a product’s overall life use. This can be due to a number of factors such as repetitive use, varying environmental conditions and much more...

Mechanical endurance testing is used to help understand the different elements which can effect a product throughout the consumers lifetime.

Mechanical endurance testing is used to determine whether a product can withstand the processing load it’s expected to endure during an extended period. This process can apply different levels of force, depending on the clients request. If required we can even test to destruction.

WHAT DO WE TEST FOR?

Different levels of testing are used depending on the application, the use of physical forces such as vibrations, shock stresses and strains can establish the product’s boundaries and limitations. The tests we provide at Bureau Veritas ensure that the performance of the product being tested is in line with what is stated to the consumer.

EXAMPLES OF THE TEST WE CAN PERFORM

•    Bond, Seem or attachment strength

•    Rigidity

•    Tensile and Impact strength

•    Flexibility

•    Density of materials

•    Over all functionality

•    Wear and tear of mechanical/moving parts

•    Overall product durability
