Mongolia CRC issued new Type Approval Regulatory guidelines for Information and Communication equipment

On Aug. 19th, 2019 Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (CRC) issued Resolution No. 29 regarding the Type Approval Regulatory guidelines for Information and Communication equipment. 

Under this regulation, most Wireless and Telecom equipment will need to apply for CRC Type approval.  

Products must have test reports that comply with the test standard and limits as per European Union Standards (EN) within 6 years prior to the issuance. These include: 
- Health & Safety 
- Electromagnetic compatibility 
- Effective use of radio frequency spectrum for radio communications equipment 

The valid period of the certification of conformity shall be up to 3 years. Renewal can be applied 60 days or more before the expiry of the certificate.  

The Conformity mark is mandatory for equipment which is manufactured locally or exporting. It is voluntary for the importing product.  

The regulatory guideline of the type approval was published on the CRC website on Aug. 29, 2019.

The enforcement date and transition period were not stated in the regulation.  

CRC still needs to cooperate with relevant organizations such as Mongolian Customs, State Inspection Agency to enforce the regulation later on. 

Manufacturer can also start to apply the product type approval to CRC.
