Indonesia KOMINFO Press Release on Revocation of 88 Telecommunication Equipment Certificates Using Fake Test Results

On April 25, 2019 - Indonesia Directorate of Standardization of Post and Information Technology Equipment on behalf of the Directorate General of SDPPI has revoked 88 Certificates in February 2019, and prohibited 21 of the manufacturers from trading the same tools and equipment. This prohibition is in accordance with Article 59 paragraph (1) of the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 16 of 2018 concerning the Operational Provisions for Certification of Telecommunication Tools and / or Devices.

The company is also required to recall the 88 equipment from resellers, physical stores and online stores. In addition, they also cannot submit a Certification application for any telecommunications equipment and equipment for two years.

To minimize, even eliminate, the use of counterfeit LHU by the applicant of the Ministry of Communication and Information to strengthen communication and coordination with recognized overseas testing laboratories, especially in implementing LHU verification with the test laboratory contact points when evaluating certification applications.

The Ministry of Communication and Information also calls for a recognized overseas testing laboratory to use digital signatures and / or QR codes to facilitate verification during evaluation.
