The Federal Communications Commission adds 1,200 Megahertz Of Spectrum In The 6 GHz Band Available For Unlicensed Use Effective 27 July 2020

The frequency range for the announcement is 5.925GHz to 7.125GHz, and its frequency band is divided into U-NII 5,6,7,and 8. There will be 1.2GHz as a new spectrum open for use, which has already been applied by operators and service providers, so based on the protection of the rights of existing operators, the Communication Committee requires an AFC (Automated Frequency Coordination) mechanism for outdoor use, and the related equipment those use indoors must comply with the lower power requirements, it aims to protect the original operators and service providers.

Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) is a mechanism which determines the licensing system based on the applicable database to assure the available frequencies to avoid harmful interference to these systems.
