Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) issued a list of Telecommunications equipment exempted from Type Approval

On Sep. 11, 2019 Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has issued an amendment of Regulations (Government Gazette No. 6992)  in respect of Type Approval and Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment Act, 2009. 

In this amendment, a list of Telecommunications equipment have been exempted from Type Approval.

As per regulation, any person or entity that intends to connect telecommunications equipment to an electronic network in Namibia for purposes of electronic communications or intends to use, sell or offer for sale telecommunications equipment within the Republic of Namibia must apply for equipment type approval.
