As of January 1, 2020, upholstered and stuffed articles will no longer require labeling and registration in the Canadian Province of Manitoba. In the meantime, manufacturers, importers, retailers, renovators and distributors with bedding, upholstered or stuffed articles will need to continue to license and register product as they have been, until that date.

As a reminder, Ontario has repealed their regulation for stuffed articles and will no longer require manufacturers, importers, retailers, renovators and distributors with bedding, upholstered or stuffed articles to register and license their products as of July 1, 2019.

Quebec also has a similar law and will continue to require registration and labeling for upholstered and stuffed articles as they have required in the past.

Bureau Veritas continues to monitor and will provide updates as they become available.
