California Safe Cosmetics Reporting Portal Now Ready for Fragrance and Flavor Ingredient Reporting

Dec. 18 2021

The California Safe Cosmetics Reporting Portal is now open for Cosmetic Fragrance and Flavor Ingredients Right to Know Act (CFFIRKA / SB 312) reporting.

California has updated the Safe Cosmetics Reporting Portal to now accept data submissions under the Cosmetic Fragrance and Flavor Ingredients Right to Know Act (CFFIRKA / SB 312). They also updated the California Safe Cosmetics Act (CSCA) & Online Reporting FAQ and the CFFIRKA Reporting Guidance & FAQ. A new guidance on Different Types of Ingredients and When They Must Be Reported was also issued. The new guidance document has reporting information on cosmetic ingredients, fragrance and flavor ingredients, as well as more specific substances such as naturally occurring chemicals, incidental ingredients, titanium dioxide, carbon black, and aloe vera.

Reminder, the reporting requirement under CFFIRKA applies to all cosmetic products with reportable ingredients sold in California after January 1, 2022, regardless of the date of manufacture. Companies are expected to start the process of reporting by January 1, 2022.
