The following summarizes a few California Proposition 65 settlements finalized and a few test line clarifications that involve dietary supplement products; pet wood litter and wood bedding, liquid laundry detergent; liquid dish soap; cabinet and door knobs.
Dietary supplement products
• Requirement
o No more than 0.5 micrograms of lead per day and no more than 4.1 micrograms of cadmium per day in daily exposure level
o Products that exceed the limit shall utilize a warning statement
Dietary supplement products containing psyllium husk powder
• Requirement
o No more than 0.5 micrograms of lead per day in daily exposure level
o Products that exceed the limit shall utilize a warning statement
Dietary supplement products that contain calcium
• Requirement
o No more than 1.5 ppm total lead content
o Products that exceed the limit shall utilize a warning statement.
Liquid laundry detergent
• Requirement
o Less than 25 ppm of 1,4-dioxane.
o Labeling is not allowed
Cleaning products
• Requirement
o No more than 10 ppm of 1,4-dioxane
o Products that exceed the limit shall utilize a warning statement
Cabinet & door knobs
• Requirement
o No more than 300 ppm (0.03%) total lead content
o Products that exceed the limit shall utilize a warning statement
Pet wood litter and wood bedding
• Requirement
o Shall utilize a warning statement for wood dust
