Bureau Veritas Taiwan is pleased to announce the qualification for Release 3 testing of Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint® certification program, authorized by Wi-Fi Alliance. At the moment, Bureau Veritas Taiwan provides both of Passpoint® Release 2 and Passpoint® Release 3 testing services.
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint® is the solution to simply the access of Wi-Fi devices when users first visit a hotspot. It provides automatic network discovery and selection, simplified online sign-up and account provisioning, seamless network access and roaming, enterprise security, operator-specific policies, venue-specific information to achieve seamless, secure Wi-Fi connectivity to networks employing Passpoint enabled Wi-Fi hotspots.
In Release 3, it adds acceptance of Hotspot Operator’s terms and conditions, the roaming consortium selection element, single SSID for online sign up and the uses of new ANQP elements including Operator Icon metadata, Venue URL and Advice of Charge.
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint® Release 3 related features will become mandatory from January 2020.
