Bureau Veritas expands its Certification Testing Portfolio to CTIA OTA V3.9.2 & CWG V2.2.1 in Taiwan

Bureau Veritas, a leading Testing, Inspection and Certification provider has announced that it has expanded its testing capability and capacity for the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) Test Plan for Wireless Device Over-the-Air (OTA) Performance Version 3.9.2, as well as CTIA and Wi-Fi Alliance® Test Plan for RF Performance Evaluation of Wi-Fi® Mobile Converged Devices Version 2.2.1, effective on 1st June.

The following are the major updates of these test plans:

CTIA OTA V3.9.2 Mandatory/Normative updates:
• Added LTE Band 71, 46, 48
• Added 2 DL CA combinations related to Band 48, and CA_25A-25A
• Added 3 DL CA combinations related to Band 48, CA_2A-2A-4A, and CA_25A-41C
• LTE CAT-M1
• LTE CAT-NB1
• Full TIS can be performed as the alternative way to pass the intermediate channel test
• GPS nomenclature -> A-GPS L1 (to specify the frequency band L1)
• LTE LAA
• New device types: Integration Component
• The manufacturer shall provide the list of target operators for a device
• Cellular Desense due to simultaneous operation of 802.11 radios is required for integrated devices
• Selection of the correct hand/wrist phantoms for the band/protocol being measured, below or above 3 GHz
• Machine-Readable OTA Report (MRR) is required for SISO/Wi-Fi OTA testing

CTIA OTA V3.9.2 Informative updates:
• GNSS for CAT M1 is currently being waived
• NR FR1 standalone
• ZigBee

CTIA CWG (Wi-Fi OTA) V2.2.x Mandatory/Normative updates:
• Adopted the selection of phantoms for below and above 3 GHz
• Updated Wi-Fi Sub-Band titles for 802.11a/n
• Removed Wi-Fi Channel 14
